Illness/Sickness: Are they sick?

Hey guys I have 3 axolotl and 2 of the youngsters have black markings on gills and down head..

The third is normal?

They 2 are albino and the other is gold..

The golden one is completely fine?





This can't be normal can it?

I think the marks are fine. When they are being active the gills will go redder, I wonder of the darker patches are just where they blood flow is.

Do you normally have the axolotl fully submerged when feeding them?

You probably already know this, but this particular little guy or girl is leucistic. S/he has some melanoid pigment in her eyes - that's why they're black.
It's normal for leucistics to develop freckles, dark patches or 'masks' of colour particularly on their heads, a la these cuties:

I haven't seen colour bunching around the gills before, but I am wondering if it's just another kind of mask.

Anyone with a leucistic or albino have the same kind of colouring? Now that I look again it looks as if the
colouring is under the skin. It could be pigment, or, as Bellaboo suggested, the site of blood flow. It makes sense blood will rush there when they're active, like blood rushes to our lungs.
