Yesterday while feeding one of my axolotls got injured its the front left foot. i can see the bone the cut mark goes from the base of the limb to the elbow. when he swims i can see blood leaking out of the cut. any advice wold be great thanks.
you should take him out of the tank and put him in dechlorinated fresh water into the fridge, to help him to calm down and have a good look for that there is no fungus developing.
How deep is the cut? Is it complete deep to the bone (in the round) - then it´s possible that the leg will fell of and you should go to a vet for an amputation.
Please post a piv to clarify this.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
