Axie got "chewed up" big time, possible broken bone

um correct me if I am wrong but wasnt Cyanoacrylate bases glue (superglue) used in vietnam by doctors to seal HUMAN wounds. I would not hesitat to use it rather than bleed tp death (for a cat/dog reptile) due to the chemicals I would be more dubious about placing it on an amphibs skin.....again better than it bleeding to death aand if its used ok with fish who are also sensitive to chemicals I would suspect it would be ok with animals...... you are really brave to attempt that I could never of done it.

Thats a good point Ed, I have been using marine salt too, I figured the trace elements would mabye add a little help, but I doubt It makes much of a difference.

There hasn't been much change with the limb.

Hi Jeff,

Based on what I have seen in the past, I wouldn't really expect to see any changes this soon. Over the next 3-5 days you should either see the skin just beginning to expand over the exposed tissue or some sloughing off of tissue that has died. Any dead tissue can become infected with fungus but that is sort of the normal action to expect. As long as there aren't any secondary infections the dead tissue should slough off until it gets back to where there is sufficient blood flow to maintain the tissue.
Also keep in mind that healing animals can have significantly increased metabolisms so don't be surprised to see some weight loss or increased (if that is possible with an axolotl) appetite.

The marine salts are a good choice.

Ed
