Axie indigestion?

I usually feed my axies with bits of fishfilet, something they seem to like very much. Now my freezer was broken for a while, so i couldn't store the stuff. I asked at my local zooshop for something i don't need to freeze and they gave me dried feeder fish. So i gave those to my axies after watering them for about 30 minutes (they had gotten somewhat rubbery by then. Now my axies won't eat and had't had a good poo in three days as well...any pointers?

DRIED!!?? feeder fish? wow havent heard of that one before! you should be able to get axolotl pellets from the petshop, much healthier than feeder fish.
sometimes axolotls stop eating if theyre having trouble digesting something and know that if they eat anything else it will rot in their tummies before they have a chance to digest it.
give earthworms a try- from a chemical free source, most axies cant resist a good ol wiggler!
how long has your tank been set up for?

Carl - Crispy feeder fish don't sound too tasty.
As Sharn suggested worms are always good, you can keep them in the fridge, some gut loaded crickets, axolotl or salmon pellets, bloodworms... the list goes on and on. Try to feed a variety of nutritious foods.

Incase you haven't found it caudata has a sister site:
http://www.axolotl.org/
its full of must read info on axolotls.

If you browse the archives of caudata there are lots of suggestions for accepted foods.

I would stop the dried fish who knows what all is dried in with them.

Hopefully your axolotls will recover from the "bad fish" on their own. If they continue to refuse to eat or can't poo please let us know.
