axie keeps getting skinnier

i already had 2 axolotls and decided to buy another one from a pet shop that just specifies in fish, i feed them once a day esp this really skinny one it takes the food and chews and chews and i noticed today it just seems to keep chewing and eventually spits it out i think bcoz both the other 2 are a good size but this one is unbelivbly skinny, as it was when i bought it, i felt bad coz it looked so small which is why i bought it but im so worried its just going to die of starvation, any ideas?

i think before we can really reply we are going to need some more info:

what are you feeding it?
how big is it?
was it kept with fish in the pet store?
what did the pet store feed it, if any?

initially i am thinking of the possibility of an internal parasite. however, saying that, it may have something to do with the type of food you are giving it, so until the above questions are answered, i will only be able to make an informed guess.

when I first got my axie, I couldn't get him to eat either... it turned out that he wasn't eating any of the live food I was giving him because the person that got rid of him had fed him exclusively pellets... So try to find out exactly what the fist store was feeding him and then try that. If you're already feeding him what the store was, try getting it closer to his face. (I literally have to drop pellets on Allegro's nose or else he ignores it's existance.) I've also had people on this forum suggest using tongs to get the food close enough and make it move so that the axies will go after it.
