Axie Not Eating :/

So I FINALLY got my tank cycled after ~2 months, and after testing for days to confirm and doing a water change to drop nitrates (and then testing again because I’m a worrier) I introduced my boy to his tank. It’s been about 4 days and he has barely eaten since being in the tank, although he shows interest in food. I’m not sure if it’s because of the sand or if it’s stress from the change of environment. I tried dipping a worm in garlic juice and he sucked it right up, and then spit it back out just like he’s been doing with his normal worms. Tonight I offered him pellets on a small terracotta plate to maybe see if it’s the sand...any other advice?

Nitrates- btw 20-40 (I know that this is slightly high and have been combatting with spring water and am in process of buying live plants to drop it, the nitrates in my tap fluctuate)

Give him time to acclimate. you moved him to a mansion he needs to settle in.

He started eating the next day! Thank goodness because he was stressing me out!!! He just took a while to adjust to his tank, which make sense because he hated tub life too

I am glad to hear he is eating. A stressed owner can lead to a stressed axolotl.
