My 1 year old axie somehow got out of the tank last night even though the glass lid was on. I found her on the floor this morning. I didn't realize she was strong enough to lift the lid up :( I've put her in water in the fridge and have gone to work. I don't know if she is alive or dead! Is there any chance she will survive?
I'm having such a bad week, my 20 year old cat died 4 days ago :(

calm down ok...... stressing out too much won't help the situation

i am no expert so i can only go by what i've read. axolotls have survived being out of water for over an hour and been fine, you have him the fridge and i think that will help him recover, a tea bath might help sooth his skin, his slime coat may start too come off.

again i am no expert so please wait until someone more knowledgeable then me gives there opinion

i hope he will recover!!!!

Was she moving when you picked her up? If she was then she stands a good chance. Axies have lungs and can survive for some time out of water, but I don't know exactly how long.

She may well suffer skin issues, such as peeling, she may lose the fronds in her gills, and she may lose her appetite.
If she's doing OK later take her out of the fridge and let her warm up to room temp, then get her back in the tank - she'll do better in the tank than in a tub.

Please let us know how she gets on.
