Axie toys(!?!) do you guys have them?

lol, yea.
actually, coz im in britain, we dont have anything rmotely axie like, so noone has a clue what they are unless they have one, or own a pet shop.
id like to have a mudpuppy, can you get them as pets?

*laughs*
I ended up getting one because my friend Mandy owns a shop, saw one on the internet and went "I want THAT!"

She didn't believe me when I said I could sort it...
She handed me £150 and let me get on with it!

I fell in love with her Ziggy, and it went from there - ending up with 4 'lotls at hers, and my partner buying me my gorgeous Spyyk.

Which reminds me - I did update!

Oh yes.
All my animals are spoilt silly.

I'd hate to be stuck in a box with little to do - I'd go insane...
I think animals should have the same treatment I'D expect in these circumstances, so I give them variety in food, decor and toys regularly.

It seems to keep them all entertained!
Come to think of it, it keeps ME entertained WATCHING them!

Amber, Love your site :) It has given me so many good ideas as a beginner - I love the idea of a mirror in the tank as company, would I be correct in thinking any normal bird cage mirror would be OK?

(and I agree with you, animals need to be entertained when kept as pets, the more you keep their minds active the happier they are)

I have just bought some moss balls from ebay. At the moment they are just floating, will they sink of their own accord?

Christine

Christine, tie cotton string around them (or fishing line and attach that to a small weight (ie a rock)...Don't use lead fishing weights though.

I put the mirror on the outside of the tank - used some blutack to stick it on.
Looks pretty good, and she likes it too.

Sink the mossball into some tank water, and squish a few times, firm but gentle.

It'll take on enough water and sink in about 24hours after the initial squishing.

Amber, your site is brilliant. I'm searching my house high and low for a ping-pong ball now!

Thanks again, I appreciate it!

Pingpong balls are awesome fun for both you and your lotls! They often go nuts in groups - one bites it and it flies off - and the movement sets the rest going!

possibly you could do a section of petshops around you and how they treat their poor axies. one near me had 4 in a 30cm by 30cm tank with no playthings or hideyholes. i couldnt belive it so i set those buggers straight and got a job a paying job cleaning fish tanks and whatnot

(your blog is awsome. i was wondering if when i get a axie and make a blog on blogspot we could link to eachothers. oh and that live streaming thing isnt working)

Hey Amber, im probably going to look like a moron but i tried ur pingpong ball idea a week or so ago but my ball wont sink! I poked a hole in it so the air would get out and water get in, and held in under for AGES but it wont go down! Is there something im just missing?

Yes, sorry about the camera thing. My friends laptop has kind of collapsed, so it won't work for a bit.
It should show baby axies soon. At least, when it's up and running again.

That's a good idea though Green.
Might be worth doing a "name and shame" for continued bad care - photos accepted at the email on the blog.

You're more than welcome to link! Sling me your website, and I'll build an affiliates box.

I love your website, the axolotl video is really cool and your axi is acting just like mine does all the time.

Thanks again!
If anyone comes up with ideas for toys/games, I'd love to hear about it! Photos are very good, but if you can't, I'll set up and take some.

You will of course get mentioned for your idea/pictures/designs
