Hi Everyone!!

New to Caudata.org but not my crazy amphibians!!

I own over 24 axolotls from my non-breeding oddities to my breed stock which I am picky about.
I have represented morphs and am part of a breeding program to strengthen and diversify bloodline here in Canada with several breeders out East.

Spanish Ribbed Newts - I currently have 2 unrelated and have 3-4 coming from different breeders with different bloodlines and once they mature will breed. I have both Leucistic and Wild type,

I am in Calgary, AB but ship nationwide to all legal areas.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
