Year 5 Axolotl Art
Rufford School
Lancashire

Some of you may recall last year when I had an Axolotl Day in school.

Well, this year while visiting another school I was thrilled to be asked if there was an activity I would like to do with the children. We spent the first half of the morning looking at a slideshow of my own axolotl pictures (which I happened to have ready on a pen drive). This generated a great deal of discussion and we spent the remainder of the morning researching and constructing an Axolotl Fact File and Care Sheet.

We spent the afternoon doing a bit of art work.
Once again we looked at pictures but this time the discussion focussed on shape and colour. I think after looking at some of their work you will agree they had an inspired day.

Please be patient, there are 18 pictures in total to view.

What wonderful pictures :D These children must have been very rewarding to teach.

Thanks for sharing.....it really put a smile of my face

The last-but-one picture has to be my favorite! Very abstract! :D

Those are so great! You're lucky to have worked with the kids, I plan on doing that in the future to teach them about axies... Very cool.

I love this! It's so great to see children's interpretations in art...My 6 yo and I just enjoyed your little art show very much! Thank you!

great art work. My kids want to be in your class.

These are brilliant!!! :D:D
You could do your own axolotl calender from these pictures.

Am I allowed to print these and hang them up?

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
