Axolotl changing color slightly? (pictures)

Hey everyone. This is my first post on the forums and so far, owning axolotls has been amazing. My black axolotl Penny has seemingly been changing in color as of late. For example, she used to be charcoal colored with white belly and under her legs. But recently she's taken on somewhat of a green/brown hue? I have a before and after picture. Sorry if they still look similar due to the lighting of the photos, but she just seems different to me. I love my axolotls so naturally I am just concerned about their health.

I also checked the integrity of the water and everything is completely fine. Also, it might be important to add that her diet has recently changed from earthworms to unfrozen tubifex worms. Her tank mate is still his same color. Thank you for the help!

It's completely normal, what a beautiful axie ?, the diet change could be doing it, it's nothing to worry about but earthworms are the best foods for axolotls

I've been going off of my girlfriend's advice. The other one is hers. How do you tell them apart?

I know, it's crazy. My girlfriend, the person who got me into axolotls convinced me it was the other way around.... It has been weird getting used to the change lmao.

So the hue change is nothing to worry about? I'm going to get them back on earthworms soon.

Nothing to worry about at all, it comes with age. And I used to think my axie was a boy sit she's actually a girl!

I honestly don't know if I'll rename him or not... The leucistic axolotl's name is Jeff, but we now realize Jeff is a she What a silly mistake...

Is it worth keeping the names the same as it's quite a funny story.

If you name them when they're young it's 50/50 unless it's unisex. I mean I was lucky my one axie I have with a boys name turned out a boy. My other one I named a unisex ish name. But I have a guys name and I'm not. Life happens.

I think that DOES make for a good story, so I'd leave the names the same. I still am not sure of the genders of 3 of my axolotls since they're only about 9 months old (they're looking female so far, but I know it could still be a while before they could end up looking male). Their names are Apollos, Artemis, and Xenas. It doesn't really matter for their names what their genders turn out to be. lol. I picked fairly unisex names for that purpose. They have nicknames anyway ("Blue Eyes"/"Freckle Face" and "Frog Face") lol. Their actual names will stay the same no matter what gender they turn out to be.
