Illness/Sickness: Axolotl Fungal Infection?

Hi, all.
I purchased my first axolotl and on arriving home noticed that he/she had a white coating on his/her mouth and gills. Is this a fungal infection and how should i treat it? Is there a chance that he/she will die?

Fungus usually looks like fuzz or cotton wool, rather than a film.

A picture would be most helpful.

My wild type looks the same. In my case, it's just the natural colouration of her lips and her gill stalks.
