Hello. This is my first post. I have only had my little friend a few months. I'm sorry if this topic is on the board somewhere else.i didn't see it anywhere. She seems healthy and she eats and is growing. I have a very hard time keeping the water clean with a little filter so I got a little bigger one then finally got the kind that hangs off the back. I try to change part of the h20 a few times a week but it doesn't ever get crystal clear like I think she would be comfortable in. Anyway... a few weeks ago I noticed a piece of her gill was in one of the filters and I turned off the filter and she swam away. Now there is a plant in front so she cant get near it. Now today I noticed one if her gills had a whitish ballish thing on the end. I am not sure if it is the one that was in the filter or not but maybe it was. I thought maybe a fungus but it doesn't look fuffy like I have seen on fish. any ideas what could be wrong? Also the gill with the thingie seems a little shorter than the other ones now. Also i don't think she likes the new filter because she stays on the other side of the tank now most of the time.

It's only a flesh wound ;)

As long as everything else in the tank is fine, sounds like this will heal, just keep an eye on it and if it looks like it's fungus then treat (as per the fungus threads)

It kinda looks like fungus to me but it's hard to tell from the picture.
You should get rid of those stones though because she can ingest them and that will cause impaction which can kill her.
For the filter, how strong is the flow from it? Do you have anything in the way to prevent current from forming because of the filter?
