Could you add an almond leaf to the tank even if there is no fungus present as a preventative measure?
Or will this just be treating something that isnt there and have a negative effect?
Almond leaves have antiseptic properties and can help prevent fungus from developing. The only problem with using it in this case is that, if there is fungus present, it will make the fungus harder to treat. Other than that, adding almond leaves to the water won't hurt the animal at all.
