So me and my partner have started our second koi pond and I really want to put a few axolotl in with the koi. Anyone have any experience with this?

Terrible idea. The koi won't get eaten but might graze the axolotls. Also not sure but I think they require different temps

Kio would be fine at temperature cold enough for axolotls as far as I know just like gold fish can survive winter chill now I'm in Texas so it doesn't freeze but sure gets cold problem is with the kio can damage the axolotls and kill and eat my gold fish certainly could and would what about no fish just axolotls iv been wanting to do this myself but keeping it cold enough outside here in Texas I don't think I have that kind of money unless I make it deep enough hehe :)

Well I've been monitoring our pond and have not had major temperature changes and all with in good Temps for axolotls. Our pond is all shaded and has a large deep end. Only part of the pond gets sun and only for a few hours.

I have not got any experience with Koi's at all, assuming they tend to get very big (please correct me if im mistaking it for small fish, in which case they may be eaten) i would imagine axolotls would be lunch.
I dont know about what you live, but we get lots of herons, large birds that come and pluck fish out of ponds and eat them.
Maybe if they were kept in a pond of their own but i dont imagine them lasting long with Koi's.

I agree with Jonjey, Axolotl should have their own area unless they are with small feeders like baby guppies that they are going to eat.

This might be too late to be helpful but I'd be interested in what you decided to do & the results.

If you have 1 koi pound you're probably aware but nets over the pond can save the pond from becoming a local all-you-can-eat buffet for herons & raccoons.

Actually they ended up fine. We did move the axolotls into their own tank yesterday, but this was for our enjoyment to see them more often. All in all we have 21 koi and 3 axolotls with zero issues. The axolotls even smaw freely with the koi and the koi never bothered them. I am sure every environment or situation is different, but ours was a great experience and environment!
