I have been very lucky over the past 2 years to have very healthy axies, but about a month ago i purchased a new drift log for them and now have a terrible fungal outbreak! I treated the tank but the problem seems to just be getting more out of control. Please let me kno if there is anything I can do to save this axie. I don't want him to suffer, he has already lost a leg and now it is attacking his mouth. Please help!!! :'(

First things first,
FRIDGE!
At the moment, fridging can buy time, and will keep him confined whilst we move to the next step...
Salt baths. http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-be...axolotl/72698-salt-bath-picture-tutorial.html This is among the best defensive manouvers one can take in regards to fungal infection. Fingers crossed this will help to knock it out- it WILL take time, so monitor carefully.
Next move: We need info. Specifically;

Thank you for your reply! I'm doing everything from my phone and can't post pictures of anything right now. He is in the fridge and I'm going to begin salt baths now!! : (

I understand this is probably a little overwhelming at the moment but you need to answer Caitie's questions otherwise the fungus may very well come back

If you're on a phone download tapatalk it makes posting pics much easier :)

The pics & parameters mini asked for are essential to getting a quick response from the wonderful experts on here :)

Brought him to the vet, we are trying to figure out treatment options now! Thank you for all your help I will let you know how he does!

Will have fingers crossed for you- did you take a water sample to the vets with you? Water quality is essential to know for treatment options- if you have really high ammonia, that's going to impact on his initial health and as such the way the doc's going to have to treat him.
We're all here for you if you need more help!
