I have a male, (around) 6 month old axie who had recently refused to eat. He's been losing weight and it's a little worrying. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue or knew how to solve it. I would also like information on how to fatten him up a little. I just don't know what is good to give him (as a treat or something) that will help him gain weight.
He's 6 months old, around 7 and a half inches long, his water parameters are fine (ammonia- 0 nitrates-22 ppm nitrites-0). He's in a 20 gallon long tank. I have two fans on him as his tank temp is about 67.7 and hovers around there. I rarely do water changes due to the massive amount of evaporation from the fans on the tank all the time. About ever two days I have to replace about 1 gallon or so of water from evaporation. (treated of course). Once a month I clean out his filter (canister).
He is alone in his tank and I can't think of why he doesn't want to eat. I haven't seen any waste in his tank in a while but I'm not always around my tank. I assumed that it broke abound and went through the filter (there is always brown-ish stain on the floss pads when I clean them) He's not bloated or floating at all, so I don't think he has an impaction. I'm feeding him Nightcrawlers every 2-3 days and he will eat maybe a third of a worm in a feeding. I tried to feed him some blood worms today and he eat some of them.
Any help is appreciated!
