So my axolotl has been sitting in one corner of the tank for the past week (Back left) and when I do see him moving, he immediately goes back to that corner of the tank. I pulled him out of the tank and put him into another small tank overnight while I cleaned the tank and switched out about 40% of the water with new water about one week ago. I also replaced my broken filter with another one. The new filter is the same exact kind of filter I had the first time except my new one is for 30 gallon tanks while my last one was for 20 gallon tanks, I have a 20 gallon tank. He doesn't seem to be eating and he won't move from the corner. I think he may be dead but there is no bad smell at the moment and I know he moved yesterday. Is there any reason that he would stay in one corner of the tank and how can I tell if he is dead, basically, what can I do to get him to move if he is still alive.

Did you move the old filter medium to the new filter? If not you've probably crashed your cycle and your axie is upset over water quality.
Test for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, and change the water accordingly.
If you pick up your axie he will move.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am going to test the water tomorrow. He did move when I touched him but after moving around the tank for a few minutes, he ended up back in the corner. I moved around some of the plants and added some live food for the first time (I believe they're minnows but may be guppies). He hasn't touched them or gone near them yet but I am hoping he will eventually go for them, I apologize if this is a dumb question but this is my first time using live food, do I need to feed them to him or can he chase them down in the tank?

Did you quarantine the fish? If not, remove them immediately and quarantine them for four weeks before adding them to your axie tank. They could give him any number of parasites or diseases. He should be able to hunt them down. Watch out for any signs that the fish may be nibbling on your lotl's gills. Fish love those irresistibly feathery things!

Until you do, assume you've crashed your cycle and do a daily water change of at least 25% (using dechlorinated water about the same temperature as the tank water). Also check the water temperature of the tank - it should be under 20 degrees celcius (16 to 18 is good).

Do as i think sweetie said. Also my axies tend to have their favorite spots in the tank to that they like to spend a lot of time at and sometimes won't move for many hours.

My axie also lies/sleeps in the corner of his tank all day too, I think that's his favourite sleeping spot. He comes out at night time as I've went into the kitchen and he's been shuffling around the front of the tank, but in the morning when I get up and check on him, he's back in the corner asleep.
Maybe he just likes that spot and is more active at night when you're not around
