I have a 2+ year old male leucistic axolotl who I am looking to rehome to someone with more experience/better equipped to care for him as I am changing job and working more hours. He is a very picky eater and will only eat raw/defrosted salmon. He will not touch pellets or worms no matter what I do (blanch them/garlic guard etc) water parameters are all fine, the tap water has high nitrates so I have to buy RO water for partial water changes, last reading:

Ph:7.6
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20-40
Ammonia: 0

If anyone is interested (individual or rescue) they will need to know about the care that comes with them.
This is not an easy decision, and thank you for reading! - Courtney

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
