Axolotl serious problem needing help Barrel rolling or ‘death rolling’

Axolotl, or personally know as axle, has been doing this for almost 2 weeks now, barrel rolling/death rolling. I’ve been doing water changes, good and cycled tank perfect water parameters. I’m afraid it’s neurological, or possibly, hopefully just his arm, but it’s like he can’t keep his balance. I can definitely tell he’s been getting stressed because of this and it’s definitely not constipation or impaction because he goes down onto the tank floor. I don’t want to lose him especially since he’s been with me for almost 2 years now.

in my whole experience keeping axolotls i have never seen any axolotl do a barrel roll. i would suspect that there could be an impaction causing this but it could also be a whole lot more. i would say yo either fridge him or take him to a vet. has he been passing anything at all?

Yes he has. Which is why I’m concerned but there’s no vets nearby which I’m probably going to have to drive for a last resort. I’m just trying to get some ideas before anything major. The main reason I’ve put grained sand instead of pebbles was to prevent impaction. But I have always kept the water cold

I wonder if tubbing him in a shallow container would help? I'd also like to know what your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, and temperature parameters are in your tank, as this can help to rule out at least some issues, but I do agree that a vet visit will probably be necessary. Hope we get this figured out as soon as possible for the little guy!
