Axolotl sleeping

I am just curious about how axolotls sleep without any eyelids.

My axies move into darker areas of the tank when they are resting. Maybe they just go into a sort of relaxation state. Having no eyelids means you spot predators and also food.

I think when mine rest their heads directly on the gorund, they're alseep.
