Please, I need your help! I was cleaning my axolotl's tank and I looked away for a bit and when I looked back, my axolotl was getting sucked into the syphon. I screamed for help and after getting my dad to cut open the syphon to get rid of the water pressure, my axolotl was free. I was sure that he had died, but when I looked at him, he was swimming around and ALIVE. I was so happy. He did get quite a beating, however. His gills have been damaged a bit, his head and tail are really red and his head looks a little swollen, he has some red bits on his tail, and half of his dorsal fin has been crushed. Is he going to survive? I know I messed up, big time, I just want to make it better for him! PLS HELP ASAP!!

I think he will be just fine with a little time to heal. I have siphoned up many newts in my time.
