Hello!

I bought my axolotl a few days ago. He is about 9 cm long. In pet shop they kept him in tank with gravel about 1 cm in size (you can see it on photo below). So I think he might have swallowed some gravel. In my tank I have only very large rocks not less then 5 cm in size.

I fed him this morning and noticed like piece of gravel sticking out of his belly. (see photo below)
But now I can't see it.

What can I do? Should I stop feeding him until gravel comes out of him? Should I fridge my axolotl?

And another question: are those yellow spots on photo are normal for axolotl?

I don't know for sure, so wait for a second opinion, but I think fridging can help. Slow down their metabolism until they can hopefully pass it. I wish pet stores knew how to actually take care of axolotls.

Chances are that she will pass the gravel on her own. Feed her normally.
The yellow spots are normal.

Thank you! I really hope everything will be fine. But I worry if I will continue to feed my axolotl normally, then gravel may stuck inside... That is why I thought about fridging.
