Axolotl tail bitted

I woke up this morning to find that my black axolotls tail has bine bitten and it looks really bad. I don't know if its because of the other axolotl that i have in the tank with her or if she is biting it herself. I have seen her nibble on her tail before. I also feed them last night.
I am cleaning the tank tonight after I get home from work and i don't know the water parameters

I doubt an axolotl would bite off thatuch of its own tail so I'd assume it's a bite from tank mate - more than likely accidental.

Remove the injured axolotl & get it into clean fresh water dechlorinated tub & change daily / scrub tub every 2nd day..

Watch for signs of fungus as there will be quite a large exposed injury.
If you see fungus do half strength salt baths twice a day until no fungus then do another two baths to make sure.

It should regrow if conditions are optimal.

Regardless of who took the bite - now you have to make sure it heals properly - please follow the directions to separate & keep in clean fresh water & keeping an eye out for fungus.

I wouldn't even remove the injured guy. It looks like mostly fin, with just a little bit of actual tail, and it should heal up just fine as long as you keep the tank cool and clean.

Consider adding more hides to keep interactions minimal.
