My axolotl "Toothless" was acting funny yesterday, not moving as much as usual. Not wanting to eat. Today, he is moving a bit more but his mouth looks different. I have no gravel in my tank (slate bottom) and had just done a water change when I noticed his mouth. At first looked bright red like was blood

now looks like there is something in it.

Any ideas?

He eats frozen krill, pellets and blood worms. Water temp 63. Parameters 10 nitrate no ammonia. Do weekly water changes

I would keep a close eye on this, if its the same in the next 24/48 hours you will need to seek a vets advice. I suspect this may be a mouth infection.

I do not have any axolotl vet in area. Wondering if I should treat for fungal infection. Not sure what best action is.

Does your Axie ussualy have that green/yellow tinge to it? I haven't seen a color like that before.

yes he is one of the glowing green that glow with blacklight. Currently have him in fridge treating with neomycin. some skin coming of nose now. Other tankmate looks okay. Hope antibacterial is the way to go
