I woke up this morning to see my largest, healthiest baby had some skin floating around their container, is this normal? I saw alot on my smallest one a few days ago and was worried it was sick but hes still around

Dont worry its shedded skin they do it as they grow , dont worry its natural.

When i first got my axolotl i read that salt will dry out there skin and they will shed, did u put any salt in the tank?

Thanks, when I came home from work one morning and saw one of their containers water was really low I noticed it was shedding alot. Cant wait to put these in a tank I just have no way to feed them so far down an aquarium yet and 2 of them have grown twice as fast as the other 2

Nah I know these guys a freshwater unless saltbathing. Its room temp/cold water taken from one of my coldwater tanks with just one fish in it so I dont have to worry about Nitrite/nitrate levels
