If I have full growth adult Axolotls, is it a bad idea to keep small axolotls with them? I am guessing that they might eat the small guys. Am I making a logical guess?

You are correct....mixing big and small axolotl would not be wise, the smaller ones may end up missing bodily parts ( or worse)
