Hi!

I do a lot of reading and research on nocturnal marsupials. A very interesting topic is lighting (since they have huge eyes that are sensitive to bright light). One of the facts that came out of the studies, was how different colored lights affect (and dont affect) the pupils... Thus you can hang blue or red lights around their cage without bothering the animal, and it's easier for the humans to see and interact with the pets at nighttime

Axolotls: We were thinking of putting strip lights around our 65 gallon aquarium so we can see Chupa better in the dark, when she is most active. Does anyone have experience with this? Links to research about this? Thanks in advance :D

Here is an example, they are waterproof: RGB holiday decoration string of lights tube lights lantern outdoor decoration waterproof-in Neon Bulbs & Tubes from Lights & Lighting on Aliexpress.com

We had some colored LED lights, we found that a blue colour was the least stessful for our axies, but it still had to be kept quite dim.

I have RGB LED strips for my aquarium, and I can make any colour. Right now I have a cycle that starts with red/yellow-ish in the morning to full brightness during daytime and then to red which fades to blueish in the evening.
My axies have hides available to them, but they hardly use them so I'm guessing they are not bothered by the light

(Not the actual cycle, just playing with the lights when I just got them)

Thanks to you both... Do you have pictures to share?? If so, please post here :D
