Axolotol Colour Question

Does anyone here know all the colours of an axolotol and if diferent colours are healthier than others because when I bought mine I had a choice of a black or white axolotol and the black ones looked normal but the white ones had missing legs and arms.
P.S. is this strange or what?

they shouldnt have any missing limbs unless the other axolotls bit them off. How old are they? and there are lots of colours mentioned on www.caudata.org/axolotl/, i am also pretty sure that different colours dont mean anything about health.

I did'nt actualy get any of the white ones I only got a black one but I would have to say that they were about 2 to 3 months old (2.5 inches long)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
