Hey guys,

So I've had my two for a quite a while now and both axxies are getting on well in their 2.5ft tank. They were eating healthily - 2 earthworms a day, at around 6 and half and 7" respectively - and were pooping normally. I do deep cleans every week (rinsing filter sponges in tank water, wiping down ornaments, lifting up the slates at the bottom of the tank and hoovering under them, around a 60% water change each week). My parameters for the last clean (Saturday) were normal - 0 for ammonia, 0 for nitrite and around 20 for nitrate. Their water is aged and treated with Stress Coat +.

Now, something odd is happening to them. Toothless, my male 7 incher, has suddenly stopped eating his worms. He only ate one yesterday. Today he would only eat one worm, and I found it regurgitated on the tank bottom when I came home. Gally, my smaller female, has also spat one of her worms out, and although they'll attempt to eat they simply spit them back out.

I'm not overly worried as both are plump and haven't got any other symptoms (apart from Gally who has a nick in her tail, but there is no fungus and it's healing nicely), but I'm not sure whether they're poorly or whether they're simply being fussy,

The only change I have made to my usual routine was that when I cleaned my tank out last I used plastic grey washing up bowls, newly bought from a store, but I was daft and didn't rinse them prior to use - I kept my two bubbies in one when I cleaned. Is there a chance that perhaps something got in the bowls, like a spray or some kind of bacteria, that is possibly making them sick?

Any help would be really appreciated! The only other reason apart from fussiness or illness that I can think of is that Tooth is nearing spermaphore-making age and I've heard boys go off their food usually prior to releasing them, but that doesn't explain Gally...

UPDATE: Turns out I was worried about nothing! Toothless and Gally both started eating again two days after I posted and are as ravenous as before. The nick in Gally's tail is also nearly completely gone.
