i have 100 or so month old axes that haven't grown much, we havnt had much success with the brine shrimp and was wondering wether or not it was possible to feed the really small babies anything else. they arnt much bigger than a large mosquito larvae. help please

Stacey, persevere with the brine shrimp hatchlings. Check out the faqs on this site for making brine shrimp hatchery.

YOu can try mushed up liver and egg yolk but you will need to do complete water change within an hour of feeding as the water will be significantly fouled.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
