Bad news and good news

I am sad to announce the passing of my sweet girl Hannah. It was sudden. She started bleeding profusely from her gills and would not stop. I am heart broken. I looked on forums and decided to go to a vet but she didn't make it long enough to get there.

However, I was given the opportunity to rescue an axolotl who was badly mistreated.
Introducing Nick. He or she is blind in one eye and has almost no gill filaments.
He was kept in a tank not big enough to turn around. Now he is eating well, has cold clean water, and I can see tiny gill filaments beginning to grow.
He's in a temporary quarantine tank and will be receiving 100% water changes daily.

He is positively adorable! Look at that sweet face. He looks so happy.

Very very sorry for your loss though. It is not easy when you lose a little one.

Thank you for your kind words. He's/ She's wonderful. Although I'll always miss my Hannah, i can't help but adore his little face and hands. He's been a light in my recent grief

Yeah it was horrible. Everything I read was the same. No explanation.
But I'm hoping Nick will continue to do well. He looks better already.
