hi just wondering if you can feed live bait worms to axies? Im from victoria australia. If so how many in one feed?

yep i'm using garden worms from a bait and tackle shop and they love em,"worms are a good staple" i usually feed mine about 1 1/2 -2 each depending on the size "mine are pretty small and i cut em in 1/2 and feed once every 2-3 days

Stupid question, but go easy.. i have no idea...

Bait Worms?? Do they just look like standard earth worms? Smaller? Larger? Same colour? Nutritional value?

... cheers guys

think the ones i got are just normal "earth" garden worms
"they have no stripes" IE: tiger worms
i usually cut em in half or my axies just spit them out if there too big

Yep, I think bait worms are safe. Been feeding mine them from day one. But I am finding they go on and off them every now and then. I think I need to renew my farm. Cutting them in half also makes it easier for the axie to swallow.

Ohhh cool.. might have to get me some bait worms!
Thanks fellas!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
