absolutely beautiful markings.

whats that, is it a rare colouration of axolotl?

believe me or not ... he hadn't this markings from the beginning ... he's getting darker and darker with every week of his life, even the body and tail are getting a couple of these spots. Never had that before.

Stunning little guy...
The majority of my gold larvae darkened to being wild types I had hoped that the plain gold larvae would stay as they where with the dark eyes, but no. They are however becoming in my opinion stunning little wild types,my dreams of having a leucistic in the brood where dashed. My last golden albino left to go to Cambridge University and I now have 7 light wild types and 3 1/2 melanoid left.

WOW! Fantastic markings. I have a leustic that has a small amount of black specks... but nothing like that. I hope he lives long and has many babies like himself for the rest of us to enjoy!!

What great animals, I'm sure at some point people will inquire about breeding if they retain these characteristics. Now if only we could find some piebald ones :)

beautiful markings on the face....looks like he's been having a mud fight lol

The markings remind me of harlequin Great Danes....Very pretty animal!

Very nice photos and what a handsome fellow Beagle Boy is!!

this handsome Beagle Boy became a tidy mother ... ;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
