I'm wanting to set up an axolotl tank as I've wanted one for years and now have money to do it. I've done quite a bit of research but a lot of information either varies of just totally contradicts each other. e.g. temperature, sand or pebbles, tanks size ect. so basically I want some advice on setting up for the first time and also if I wanted 3-5 axolotls what sort of tanks size would I need. thanks.

You'd need a BIG tank for 5 axies - at least 5ft, 250L. For 3 you'd need a 3ft tank, 150L.

Best place for accurate info is axolotl.org.

There was also a HUGE conversation about sand vs pebbles on here... general conclusion? sand "usually" > pebbles...
