My name is, as my nickname suggests, Dominick and i'm a 20 years old male living in Belgium, Europe.
I quite recently started keeping salamanders, axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum) to be precise. And i love it, it's a very rewarding time passing.
For the moment are axolotls the only salamanders i'm interested in. Not that i don't like other amphibians, but i just don't feel the urge to keep them. But i have to admit, when i made my first appearance on a reptilian, amphibian and aquarium-convention i was really amazed by the beauty of all that i saw.
And i think, that if i'd ever start keeping other amphibians, that it would be a frog-species.
But this is all irrelevant, because i'm just starting and i only wanted to have an axolotl as pet! My axolotls are still very small, my spotted leucist is just 13cm long and the albino measures 14cm.
I think it's very important that if you keep an animal as a pet, that you treat it as good as you can. And that's why i think discussion-boards like caudata.org are something great. You can just log in, and talk about the ins and outs of your pet.
I'm also a member of a dutch salamander discussion-board, but the reason i also registered for this one, is because i hope that this one is a little bit more active in the axolotl-section.
I'm very accepting towards questions, so if you guys still have some questions: just ask!
