Hi can anyone help me with which type of lighting is best for Newts ?

I know many use basic florescent tubes with no problems but i want everything in my new set up to be the best for the health and well being of my newts, im struggling with what lighting would be best !

I would appreciate any help.

The usual fluorescent tube should be just fine. Some people use low-intensity UV (2.0) fluorescent bulbs, but there is no evidence that this is needed. Some of the bulbs I use are this type. Too much UV is certainly injurious.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
