Which is the better product and why?

I'm leaning towards Aqueon because of the on/off at the vaccuum end, but the Python seems to use better tubing.

What experiences and opinions do you guys have?

If you have the Aqueon - is the tube something I could swap out or is it a strange size?
If you have the Python, is there a on/off at the vaccuum end also?

Thanks :D

Love my Python. Aqueon is sometimes cheaper and easier to order for some stores. I've used both and in my experience the aqueon products are a little more cheaply made, but all aquarium products are in my opinion nowadays, I'm kinda old. My python I bought about 15 years ago and other than connection parts that have broken due to my klutziness or misuse its still as functional as the day I got it. Both the aqueons I purchased developed splits in the tap connection piece and one the hose split under water pressure while the shut off valve was closed. Unless theyve changed the design the python has a shut off valve about 2 feet down from the syphon bell just like the aqueon. Aqueon is a copy of the python so both have the same bells and whistles. Not saying all aqueons stuff is junk maybe just my bad luck but thats the opinion I've formed.

Happy shopping!

Well I bought an aqueon and honestly just getting the right parts to attach it to my sink was incredibly more difficult than it should have been. I tried to order a different attachment from the company but could not find what I needed (I had to go to the hardware store several times. even on my new sink I needed the parts I got so I don't think it was just my one sink. no one else seems to have this problem though...). I've had it for about 3 months now and about a month ago something around the connection to the sink stopped connecting correctly. It now spews water everywhere everytime I use it. I put a hand towel over the sink to contain the water because it does still work. (Something is wrong with the connection of the aqueon itself, not it's connection to the sink.)

I have just ordered a new sink attachment piece though because it was only $10. I should have tried the python one but I didn't think about it. It certainly did make water changes easier once I figured out how to use it (which was another HUGE pain and I'm not an idiot and watched at least 5 different how to videos.) I think the hose was kinky or something and the contraption at the sink end (not connection to the sink mind you) has just been wonky.

Edit: I realise this sounded incredibly negative but I agree with SnotOtter (Omg that name is hilarious) that it may just have been my experience and I don't have the best of luck so it may just be me but I thought I'd share my experience. Maybe someone else feels differently and maybe the new one I ordered will change my mind but this whole thing has put a sour taste in my mouth for aqueon.

I own 2 python gravel vacuum of different sizes for about a year now, no problems, work perfectly, the tube remains flexible. I would recommend them, I have not tried to alternative but have never had an issue with mine!
