Biotopes in central Spain - Guadarrama mountains

A few shots of the mountain variety of Triturus pygmaeus and his habitat. A very green and robust form of pygmaeus if compared with other varieties (on my preceding thread).

Some big males of Pleurodeles waltl, found in a unusual high habitat (1200 m.)

Interesting again Ruben, I guess that this is the northern distribution limit of T. pygmaeus? I didn't known that they occured in the Guadarrama!

Yes, it's the northern distribution limit of T. pygmaeus in Madrid: Overlapping with marmoratus distribution area occurs in some valleys/slopes of Ávila and Madrid provinces.
