There is this really weird black spot under my axolotls arm (or leg i guess), it has been there about 2 months now and it doesnt seem to be affecting him, its almost like something has dug into his arm but i have him away from any windows plants, or anything else where bugs can get near. he has a very clean tank and no parasites i always check. What should i do?

Hi there, would you be able to take a photo of it ? I appreciate your axolotl may not wish to co-operate, but it would give an even better idea what might be going on.

ok here are a couple photos, excuse the picture quality

It could be a lot of things. Has it changed any since you've noticed it? Bigger, smaller, different shape, color, more of them, etc?

no it just popped up, and i didnt pay much attention at first coz my dog has been at vet sick, so all i was doing with him was feeding him, and going up to the vet pretty much (should have thought to take axi up) but it hasnt changed at all and there are no more just this one, i dont know what to do!and his behaviour hasnt changed at all

there are two little slits on the back of his tail, not the tip just near the back, it looks like some one has cut him with scissors, they are small at the moment but what should i do?

i dont have photos because the slits wouldnt pick up on my mobile very good, digital camera is getting fixed!

as log as there is no sign of infection and he is eating ect i would just leave him be,
just keep an eye on him to make sure it doesnt get infected.
if anymore appear take him to a vet to get him checked.
