I know tubifex and daphnia are supposed to culture very well together, but what about blackworms and daphnia? I just started a blackworm culture and am wondering if the two would go well together, since blackworms seem to be rather similar to tubifex. Maybe I'll just have to experiment...

No harm in trying. The problem with blackworms is that they don't reproduce very fast, and most people give up before they get much yield from them. Let us know how it goes with the blackworms (with or without the daphnia)

Thanks, Jennewt :) I certainly will make a post on their progress (with or without the daphnia). I just currently don't have the need to buy them in bulk, and no local stores carry blackworms so buying small portions isn't much of a possibility either... guess we'll just see!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
