Today I noticed my leucistic, who shares a tank with my melanoid, floating at the top of the tank and unable to get back down. I figured eh, just a little constipation, I'll pop her in the fridge and she'll be fine in no time. After getting her in a tupperware and draining the water until her feet were on the ground, I noticed she was missing two front right toes! I know axolotls can regenerate, and she's fairly young (<2 years) so I'm not too worried about that. However, I AM concerned that she seems to be tilted to one side (her right seems more buoyant than her left) and her body seems curled in that direction.
Do you think the injury has anything to do with the tilt? Her right side, the side that was injured, is the side that is elevated, do you think she's just favoring that side? Or do you think there's something more serious going on?
She's chilling in the fridge now. If anyone has any recommendations or advice, PLEASE let me know!
Main tank water params are all normal (nitrite/ammonia 0, low nitrates), tank temp is around 68-70 F (I know, high, but its the lowest I can get in my apartment and I'm cycling frozen water bottles like a lunatic)
