Bloat treatments

Two people have reported bloat in newts in garden ponds in the Reptiles and Amphibians in the UK forum here:

This is something I've not had any experience of- I was wondering if anyone here has successfully treated anything similar?

I have seen a female vulgaris with bloat in my garden pond. I put it in a small tank with regular changes of spring water, and it miraculasly recovered!
