I turned their night time light on tonight, and the the tank looked really pretty....so I found my camera and took some shots. A couple are pretty good--the rest are ****, but I still like them. :)

By the way, I didn't curse in that last post. I guess it considers that a naughty word. Oops. :p

Oooh her gills are purple!!

Are blue LEDs safe for nightly use ? We really want to get some.

My understanding is that they are. I asked around on here a lot, and that was the general consensus. My GFP seems much less bothered by it than she does the regular light.

When I get my axolotl's I'll post some pictures like this aswell :)
just installed the lights, full RGB led bars with programmable controller :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
