Hi

just got this filter second hand and was just wondering if there was anyone else who had the same one who could tell me how to use it. i am mainly just wondering if the whole thing is put under water or if it is just put under water up until the exhaust spout is covered.

any photos of some in use or extracts from an instruction manual would be great.

thanks

Hiya, Yup it's an internal filter so it can be fully submerged in the water, You can have the little "exhaust spout" out of the water if you wish to attach a spray bar but personally I think it's easier to put them completely underwater :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
