Body floating..not butt

So its exactly as the title says really, one of my babies keeps floating upside down/on his side.

The first few days i thought it was just constipation and that it would pass, but its now been around 8 days and he physically can not stay at the bottom.

Its not his tail that goes up at first either its his actual body then when hes on the top he flips upside down.

Ive tried to lower the water level so he is more comfortable but he still floats to the top of any level.

Its not the water quality cause i check it every day and also i keep them all in the same container but with dividers in it. He's the only one having this problem.

Has anyone had this same problem? Or can anyone advise me on what to do for the poor thing?

Hi Layna, I`ve bred many baby axolotl`s and i always get one that floats upside down like yours, Its when they gulp the air and they get a air bubble stuck in there body it can last up to 3 weeks. It will be fine just make sure its eating still use tweezers and wiggle the bloodworm in front of its mouth ad it should eat it, youve just got too wait untill the air bubble passes. Air bubbles are usually caused from not getting enough food. Try feeding more.

Thanks guys thats made me feel a lot better.

On closer inspection I think I can see the bubble if it is it, it's huge! No wonder he can't stay down

They are about 6 weeks now. I feed them a mixture of live daphnia, tiny bits of blood worm and the daphnia jelly.

By the looks of things I have 4 melanoid and the other 7 lecustic but they need to grow so I can confirm it

YEY! i put him in really low water last night with some plant to hide and when ive woke up this morning he has finally passed the bubble! im so relieved!
