Breeding question

I have had my pleurodeles waltl from very small juveniles and they seem to be in amplexus for a past time! They are now adult and still enjoying a cuddle,however I noticed today the female has been laying eggs on and off all day,the male however is still pursuing her and has again got her into amplexus.Is this natural for the male to be so eager even when the female is egg laying?Will this harm the female in any way?

I just got another batch from my P. waltl last night and they do the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's normal.

in about five months I've got four batches of eggs...and there is no sign of stopping..female is about twice the size of the male from the eggs still.

It's crazy how much they breed.

are you raising all yours Rob?

I only attempted raising the first batch. The second batch I left in the tank to be consumed by the parents, the third batch I attmped to send to some friends but it ended up being a bad batch or me making a mistake that caused them to all mold over, and this last batch is going to go to friends as well. I may raise a few more, but I don't think I will. WHat about you?

Busy busy!

Currently I've raised about 20 from the first batch to morphing..which they started this week. It's alot of work, but very fun. They grow so quickly!!!

hello all, I got My P, walts from when the where an egg, now they are like 9 months old, and i got a batch, how can i see that there was an amplexus? because the male en female arenot that big after all.
