hello, i have some red spotted newts that were produced lat year. basically just wondering if it is too early for them/ too dangerous for them to reproduce this year. the male is in full breeding colours etc and is grabbing the female like they do. but they are way small still.

any ideas

I think I would separate them: the courtship will be stressful for the female, and the male won't eat while he has sex on the brain. I'd probably keep them apart for one more year at least.
