I am a new axie owner, I eventually want to start breeding but would rather start out with buying an adult breeding pair, how would I go about doing that? What is the best way to set up a breeding tank?

I bought mine from a reptile show. Within 3 months I had eggs. I feed mine earthworms and axolotl pellets. The aquarium I have is not a special set up just lots of fake plants and hides.

I see thank you for the information

Your welcome. Just make sure there is demand for babies in your area. We hatched 223 eggs and cannot sell them. My area I guess is saturated with axolotls.

Hi, I do plan on doing that, I don't want to breed them until a few months after I get them, just so I know they are healthy and happy before I breed them

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
