Hello, this little guy cant move this arm and had some white stuff on his tail and I am not sure if this is some kind of fungus or a broken arm, I already gave him a 15 min tea bath. Should I remove him from the aquarium and keep him in a container or is he fine?

Thank you

do you have other axolotls? that looks to me like a bite or nasty scrape, the area around it would be the slime coat peeling. im not sure how to tell if its broken but id say its probably a good idea to isolate him until you can figure that out to prevent further injury

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
